RIP JDS
One of my favorite authors, JD Salinger, passed away. I know it’s cliche, but don’t worry, my favorite work of his is NOT Catcher in the Rye. His short stories blew my mind, and Franny and Zooey made me think. And now, ahem, some quotes:
“Jesus knew — knew — that we’re carrying the Kingdom of Heaven around with us, inside, where we’re all too goddam stupid and...

Decade in Review
I’ve lived through two full decades… the first one not as important as I was two at the beginning of it. This is the decade of my youth, the next one, I will be writing to you as a 31 year-old lady. OLD lady. So here it goes:
2000 - I was still getting used to my new school. I entered seventh grade and started junior high in the fall. It wasn’t that scary.
2001 - My family went...

A website created by actor Rainn Wilson that asks life’s big questions and provides a place to discuss spiritual and philosophical issues. Really awesome.

I’m writing my big senior paper on the paradox of free will. Here’s a quote of inspiration:
“So it starts to look like whether it’s God setting things up in advance and knowing everything you’re gonna do or whether it’s these basic physical laws governing everything, there’s not a lot of room left for freedom. So now you might be tempted to just ignore the...

It's Not Summer!
Or, at least I’m not on summer vacation anymore. I have officially begun the trek of my last year of undergraduate work. This term I am taking Research Methods and Applied Statistic, Social Work Practice, Counseling, and Humanities Seminar. I’m excited and mostly have enjoyed these classes so far and look forward to completing this term.

It's Summer!
And it’s going to be great! Jake and I already went camping, and there is still so much to look forward to! This is a music video for Death Cab’s catchy song “Little Bribes”. I will hopefully accomplish making a music video using stop-motion this summer! Now if only someone would return my tripod… ;)

Tulip Wine Down Picture Blog
Macro shots by Jake. It was really fun, and I’m glad we got amazing weather.
My Hubby's A Gangster
Yes he is. His name was drawn for a contest that won him four tickets and a parking pass to the Tulip Wine-down festival, an event where we can take pictures of fields of colorful tulips, and he can sample wine and beer of the state while I eat pizza. It shall be fun, and even more fun because we get to get in for freee.
Visit the Wine-down website here.
Five Albums That Have Influenced Me
So this thread has been going around facebook, and it’s mostly a way of showing off how cool you are, so I will participate. These albums I have purchased in CD format and played in my Walkman with dorky headphones for much of junior high/early high school, and are poignant in my memories and have impacted my musical taste, so that is why I chose them. Enjoy.

I got a netbook, specifically, an Asus Eee PC 1000HE in black. And I love it :)
Beach Vacation
Our first big getaway since the summer! :D It was really fun, and we got to play around with our new spiffy lens. We stayed at a very nice condo in Lincoln City, and we had a hot tub and a king size bed and a fireplace… It was perfect :)

Daisy!
So, these past couple of weeks I’ve been house and dog-sitting for a family… and the puppy dog’s name is Daisy. Jake and I had fun in their big house (relative to our small apartment) and taking care of Daisy, and their psychotic cat Ziggy. Here are some cute pictures of the Daisy Doodle Dog:

Puppy Bowl V!
So, who really cared about the Super Bowl, right? Animal Planet, in all its wisdom, features a Puppy Bowl, for those who’d rather watch cute puppies run around in circles.
Behold, Puppy Bowl V MVP Performace
There are other wonderful clips like a Kitty Half-time Show, and also a Streaker at the Puppy Bowl! Speaking of puppies, Jake and I start our puppy-sitting/house-sitting adventure...

I'm an INFJ
So, I’m in a Social Work Practice class, focusing on working with families/groups. So far it is very interesting and somewhat intimidating. We took a popular personality test, called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), my professor is some sort of expert on this test, and thinks it is a very helpful resource. I am an INFJ, though my F was not that far away from being a T. The rest were...
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog!
So, Jake and I watched this about a month ago, but I really enjoyed, and want to share its hilarity and tragedy. A Joss Whedon film, featuring actors Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day. If you don’t know who Felicia Day is, please watch this and laugh aloud. Out loud. Whatever.
This is Act I. Act II and III here.

Damon Weaver for President
This kid has a bright future ahead of him. I hope he gets his Obama interview. And all the ladies.
UPDATE: So, as predicted, Weaver did not get his interview with President Obama. Lame! I blame Obama personally for not caring for the youth of our country. Har. BUT Weaver did interview some big-shots, like Chris Tucker, Sammy Jackson, and Oprah! Check all the interviews out here.

So, the new year has officially begun. Incredible. A lot has happened in the eighth year of the 21st Century. Let us review chronologically:
January - Me and my then-fiancé-now-husband Jake welcomed in the new year with Brandon. The story is too ridiculous and amazing to publish on the internet. We also threw Jessica a going-away party, which produced this amazing photo:
